Find Coordinates on the Map
About This Tool
This program is designed to find and set the geographic coordinates of any specified point on the map.
The longitude and latitude that you have found, will be indicated in the formats: DMM - degrees and decimal minutes , DDD - decimal degrees, DMS - degrees minutes seconds.
How to Use It
The address search block is built into the map. Click the 'magnifier'
button to search for a location.
Enter the address of the object you are interested in into the search bar and select the desired location from the list.
Latitude and longitude are displayed in two modes. The first mode is dynamic (available only on PC) and changes in real time as you move the mouse over the map. This mode is useful when you need to quickly estimate coordinates. The second mode is static — coordinates are fixed after you click on a specific point on the map.
Testing this service
To demonstrate how this tool works, here is a list of coordinates of well-known locations that were identified using this service. Some of these locations may cover a fairly large area, so the map marker will only indicate the general position of that area. If you want to obtain precise coordinates, use this service, which is specifically designed for finding exact locations on the map.
To view a location, copy and paste the longitude and latitude in decimal degrees format into the built-in map search box. The location will be marked with a pin. You can adjust the zoom level or switch to satellite view to examine the area in detail and determine the exact coordinates you need.
