Online cartography is not limited to services designed solely for direct interaction with maps. Modern cartography, driven by new digital technologies, has been enhanced with additional tools that extend the core capabilities of satellite maps. One such service is Street View, which enriches interactive maps with an immersive visual and geospatial experience.

When Street View Began

Service Google "Street view" started from May 2007. Since that time there is a permanent addition and updating of street pictures of cities and road all over the world, and virtual walks along well-known architectural structures, memorial or just places of rest becomes more available for everyone who wishes to do so.

Practical Uses of Street View

A person planning to visit an unfamiliar city can explore it using an interactive map — finding landmarks, checking the locations of metro stations, bus stops, gas stations (or electric vehicle charging stations), parking areas, as well as hotels or restaurants.
